Spring break is intended for college students. Between the unbeatable prices, and packages on hotels and party passes, it’s clearly not meant for families. The clubs offer promotions providing free drinks if you show up early, or free admission for the girls on ladies night. Many of the hotels offer rates only for students, they turn down families. Its not safe, and its definitely not going to be quiet enough for a families liking. I think this is a good decision, by making a resort only for students they can ensure the safety of families is not in danger. Even though the rates of the hotels are higher during the few weeks that colleges are on spring break, they usually will offer other special events like pool parties or free breakfast to compensate for the higher rates.

MTV is usually in the hottest destinations each year, they offer free concerts to pull people into the clubs. Some of the hottest contests take place during the day and are hosted by some famous celebrities. By having famous people in the town and performing for a few weeks at a time, it really draws people in. Kids want the free concerts, and free dancing. Being a college student myself, I know that most people just want to have a good time, and for cheap. Hosting events that are free to get into are a big reason the clubs stay packed on a regular basis. Students are out of control and the town is extremely overpopulated.

Just being in the Panama City Beach can be dangerous. You have to know where your going and who your with. You really can’t trust anyone, for they don’t care who you are, they will steal your money or other belongings, or even you. Rape is a big issue on spring break, students drink to much and become promiscuous. Hooking up on spring break really is not new news, however, everyone hast to be extra careful. There’s no telling what the history of the people you meet is like, they can be dangerous.

Its better to travel in groups, not only just on vacation in general, but every time you go anywhere. The odds of something bad happening are so much more slim when you travel in groups. Its always a good idea to keep a cell phone on you at all times, especially for emergencies. Its important for everyone staying in the room to have a room key, there’s no telling when someone will get split apart from the group and can be stranded outside the hotel without a way in. Many college kids try and lie about how many people are in the room to avoid extra charges, but in the long run, its not worth it.

Its so important to stay safe on vacation. Knowing the surroundings is critical too, incase you ever get lost. Keeping yourself in a group of people you know at all times is a definite must. All in all, you have to be aware of everything around you, if you can do this, your going to have the time of your life, without a doubt.

http://www.hindu.com/2008/11/20/stories/2008112055301100.htm  This article talks about how cocain (drugs) are  problem in other countries, not just US cities, and not just cities that become overpopulated with college students during spring break.

Academic vs. electronic audiences

Writing for electronic audiences is a lot more laid back. You can write using more slang.  Academic writings are usually formal and lengthy, but writing on the internet is a lot more relaxed.

Analytical Research Project

I wrote about how popular vacation destinations turn violent during spring break.  Hotels get destroyed, underage kids are served alcohol, girls are raped, drugs are everywhere, and they are not a good place to take young children for a family vacation.
